Just a quick note to let everyone know that Fiberworks has just received a shipment of Malabrigo in Lace, Sock and Worsted weights. Stop in before your favorite color is gone!
New Classes
We are excited to announce two new classes. Please be sure to preregister and receive the materials list by calling the store at at (937) 429 – YARN (9276) or stopping in.
Top-Down Socks is being offered for beginning sock knitters with Ten-Step Snug Socks. Using either double pointed needles, two circular needles, or Magic Loop, future sock knitters will learn the basics of knitting in the round, turning a heel, short rows and picking up stitches. The class is 4 sessions, on Saturdays from 10 to noon. The dates are January 21st, February 4th, February 11th and February 18th. Cost is $40.
The Fun Fan Gauntlets are fingerless mitts that often remind people of dragon scales. This 3 session class will work on sizing the pattern to fit, learning the “scale” pattern, and working the thumb. Classes are on Monday, January 23rd, January 30th and February 6th. The time is either from 2-4 PM or 6-8 PM. Cost is $30.

January 12, 6pm – Animals – Needle felt the animal of your choice! Please bring pictures of the animal you’re felting.
January 19, 6pm – Embellisher Basics – Learn the basics of machine care and use with lots of hands on practice.
January 26, 6pm – Embellisher Playtime! – Go beyond the basics and explore what else your machine will do. Lots more hands on practice and help planning your first project!
February 2, 6pm – Exotic Birds – Got the winter blahs? Felt an exotic and colorful bird to brighten up those gray skies in Ohio! Please bring a picture if you want to create a particular bird. Otherwise… just bring your imagination!
February 9, 6pm – Heart Pin – Needle felt a heart, leave it plain, add beads, flowers, embroidery… the sky is the limit! Add a pin back and you have one-of-a-kind art-to-wear just in time for Valentine’s Day!
February 16, 6pm – Flowers – Get a jump start on Spring! Learn to make flowers with needle felting and wet felting. Use them to embellish purses, your hair, a jacket, or add a stem and place them in a vase.
February 23, 6pm – Fellowship of the Felted Sleeve – Everyone needs a puppet of their own! These addictive fellows are made from a felted sweater sleeve. A simple seam determines whether the puppet is animal or human, and the rest is needle felting! Materials fee: $5

Sale!
Fiberworks will be having an end of the year Inventory Reduction Sale. Stop by and find almost everything in the store at least 10% off. The sale will run between Monday, December 26th through Saturday, December 31st.
Holiday Hours
Fiberworks will be closed December 25th for Christmas, as well as January 1st to January 6th for the annual inventory. Otherwise, we will be open our regular store hours. Happy Holidays!
Thanksgiving
Fiberworks will be closed this Thursday, November 24th, to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. We will reopen Friday morning at 10 AM.
Top-Down Socks Class
This just in… Top Down Socks is being offered for beginning sock knitters. The class is 3 Saturday sessions, on November 19th, December 3rd and December 10th from 10 AM – noon. The class is $30, not including the pattern, and will cover the fundamentals of sock knitting, starting with the cuff.

New Class Times
The Aran Mittens class has been moved. The 4-part class will now meet 10am to noon on Nov 12th, Nov 19th, Dec 3rd, and Dec 10th.
Decorative Felted Flowers will meet Tuesday, December 6th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The cost is $20.
Additional November Classes
There are two more wonderful classes being offered this month. Please see the detailed information below, and reserve your spot in class by either stopping by the store or calling (937) 429-YARN (9276).
We are offering a class on knitting stunning Aran mittens. The techniques covered in this class include chart reading, cables and traveling stitches, bobbles and the Kitchener stitch, among many others. This class will meet for 4 sessions. Saturdays, November 5, 12, 19 and December 3, from 10 AM – noon. $50.
The Hermione Hat with Scarf class will cover circular knitting, cables and the alternate cable cast on while making a beautiful lace and cabled hat. The accompanying scarf is worked flat and features reversible cables. The class is $30 for three sessions. Mondays, November 7, 14 and 21, from either 2-4 PM or 6-8 PM.
Mark your calendars now for upcoming December classes. We will be offering Two-At-A-Time sock technique classes in single-class sessions. Toe up will be taught on Saturday, December 17th, from 10 AM to noon, and top down will be taught Monday, December 12, from either 2-4 PM or 6-8 PM. Each class is $10. Please bring a pattern you wish to work on, and note that it is expected that each student have completed at least two pairs of socks.
